Every command in Ettin Edit can have a keyboard shortcut, and you can change
any of them. This page lists the defaults; the menus and the
command palette always show the ones in use.
Settings > Shortcut Mapper… lists every command, every saved
macro and every plugin command, with their shortcuts.
Type in Find to narrow the list, by the command's name or by a
shortcut such as ctrl+d. Tick Only commands with a shortcut to hide
the rest.
Select a command.
Click Set… (or Change…), then press the new keys. Esc
cancels.
If another command already uses those keys, Ettin Edit tells you which one.
Move It Here takes the shortcut from the other command; Cancel
leaves things as they were.
A command can have more than one shortcut: Add Another… adds one,
Remove removes the selected one, and Reset to Default puts the
command's original shortcut back. Reset All Shortcuts resets every
command.
Rules for shortcuts:
They need Ctrl or Alt, unless they use a function key
(F1 to F12), so plain typing is never taken over.
Ctrl+C, Ctrl+X and Ctrl+V are kept for
copy, cut and paste.
Undo, redo, cut, copy, paste, select all and completion are handled by the
editor itself and can't be changed.
Your shortcuts are saved in settings.json in the
settings folder, so they move with your settings.
